Bears at Burlesque - Madame Jojo's

The last remaining 'to do' on my 2014 list was to go to a burlesque show.  After a little research, I selected Madame Jojo's in Soho, London.

Saturday night looked like a great night to "spend some time with 'Burlesque Queen' Miss Tempest Rose and the stars of The House of Burlesque".

We opted for the 'VIP Show & Class' tickets which got us front of house seating and a 1 hour burlesque class beforehand - all for only £30.

Unfortunately, shortly before our visit to the legendary Madame Jojo's, the club's licence was revoked, forcing them to relocate to Drury Club from their home since the 1950s.  No worries, we wandered through Covent Garden, gazing at the festive lights on our way.

We started off with our class - learning about how to pose and move like pin-ups and femme fatals!  A great giggle for birthdays, hen dos etc.  My sisters and I definitely had a laugh...especially when we had to 'put on a show' for the rest of the group!  Cue, lots of pouting and slow strutting...

Then it was time to take our seats and grab a drink.

Settling down to watch a truly entertaining show, full of singing, stockings, feathers, tassels and dancing.

Each act had unique skills - including opera, ballet and hula-hoop spinning...

...and the crowd was encouraged to cheer and laugh, making it a great fun way to spend an evening.

You then get free entry to their associated club, if you're interested in continuing the party.
