Scicli, Sicily

On the way from Ragusa to Syracuse we stopped in Scicli (pronounced ‘chickerly’!).

This city is another UNESCO World Heritage Site….with, you guessed it(!) more Baroque architecture.

It was actually quite a nice ancient town, set in a gorge near the coast.

The highlights were the Church of San Matteo, the Church of St. Bartholomew and the traditional piazzas.
