Dubai - The Music Hall

On our first day in Dubai we wanted to celebrate the start of our holiday. So, after a recommendation from a colleague, we booked a table at The Music Hall for our Friday night.

We ‘prettied’ ourselves up...

and added some transfers...

We had a little ‘warm up’ at our hotel (Amwaj Rotana) with some champagne on the top (club) floor.

And some evening nibbles...

And then climbed in a taxi to take us over to The Palm Jumeirah Island.

The Music Hall is part of the Zabeel Saray hotel. A very impressive venue…

With great views back onto Dubai mainland.

We wandered around the hotel, checking out the shops – and lights – all around.

Then we headed into the Music Hall. You need to book in advance as it’s busy. It’s also worth knowing there is a minimum spend of 450AED – excluding food. But you're also paying for the show with that so I guess it balances out.

Menus in-hand we surveyed our options...with some carrot sticks - a random (but incredibly more-ish!) bar snack.

We started with some cocktails. They even made us lychee martinis – my favourite.

Followed by another…

Well it was a good way to stay warm – the venue was freezing, due to its vicious aircon, so the staff brought us extra pashminas to help!

The show kicked off – it’s a great selection of different live music acts, varying from salsa, to gypsy music to rock.

During the performances, we also had dinner.  To start, we shared the 'Symphony of Salmon' and the scallop dish
"Oak smoked Balik salmon, sashimi, tartar and caviar.  With pickled ginger and white balsamic dressing"
"Seared fresh scallop, asparagus, lemon marmalade"
Followed by a delicious steak to share...

...with some red wine

Everyone is drinking, dancing (and smoking) throughout the venue, enjoying the various performances.

A great fun night! I’d definitely recommend visiting it at the weekend if you’re in Dubai, especially if you’re celebrating something (best nights are Thursday and Friday).
