Chocolates / Cakes at Conditorei Schober, Zurich

Every city break needs an indulgent afternoon, so to revive us during our wet and cold wander around Zurich we headed over to the ‘sweet corner’ of the Old Town.

Here is the traditional Conditorei Schober – a stylish café that was originally a sweet shop when it opened in the mid 19th century.

The front counter is full of delicacies.

The old building has a grand feeling with high ceilings and different styled rooms.

We settled down firstly for a hot chocolate. Easier said than done…look at this menu, just for hot chocolates!

Lisa opted for a mocha, while I went for the classic hot chocolate.

Then it was time to salivate over the handmade chocolates, pastries and cakes on display…

…before selecting our chosen treats.  Lisa went for a mille-feuille..

…and I went for a strawberry macaroon.

But, of course, we shared to maximize the tasting opportunity!
