Brunch at Bill’s

To kick of my ‘baby’ sister’s birthday we headed to Bill’s for brunch. Brunch is one of my favourite meals of the day - along with Afternoon Tea! Bill’s started as a cafe / shop in Lewes in the south of England and is now a chain appearing across the country. If you haven’t been it’s a lovely ‘homestyle’ place with lots of yummy treats on the menu and also available to buy as cupboard stockers - and good gifts.
We started with drinks - I’ve given up caffeinated beverages for Lent (sniff!) so opted for a healthy green smoothie. Despite it’s savoury-looking colouring it was surprisingly sweet with apple juice and banana (in addition to the cucumber and spinach).

Then we all order up our mid-morning indulgences. Everyone went for eggs…

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toasted bloomer

Eggs Royale - poached eggs served over smoked salmon, hollandaise, pumpkin seeds & toasted english muffin

Eggs Florentine - poached eggs served over spinach, hollandaise, pumpkin seeds & toaster english muffin

…except for me - I went for pancakes!

Blueberry & buttermilk pancakes with banana, strawberries, maple syrup & smoked streaky bacon - yum!

Even the pancake is smiling...!
Happy faces all round.
