Rachel does Reading (Festival)!

As one of my “2013 Things to Achieve” list, I wanted to go to a festival. As a non-camping fan, Reading Festival provided the perfect opportunity to experience this music must-do!

Reading Festival takes place on the third weekend in August at Little John’s Farm in central Reading. It’s partnered with Leeds Festival with both venues sharing their line-ups on alternating days. The 2013 line-up included Green Day, Eminem and Biffy Clyro. Reading Festival started in 1971 and is the world’s old popular music festival still running and hosts approx 90,000 people as well as a mix of artists and stages.

As it was raining I sported my wellies - and of course it’s festival wear!

I met up with my friends and, with cider in hand, began to enjoy the good line-up and varied tents and stages around the festival. There was the NME/Radio 1 stage, the dance tent, the 1Xtra Stage, the BB1 Introducing stage and the alternative tent.

In the evening, we headed to the main stage to see White Lies, Chase and Status and then finally Eminem - I’m a big Eminem fab so was so excited to see / hear him live and got caught up with the hoards of people dancing / rapping / jumping! He had a great set - mixing up both new and old songs and there was an incredible atmosphere and I had such an awesome time.
